Release Manager

The Senior Release Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely, high-quality, and low-risk delivery of software releases across the organization. This role coordinates cross-functional teams, manages dependencies, and ensures compliance with governance and change management processes. The Release Manager plays a key role in aligning technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless and stable software changes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Release Planning & Coordination

Define and maintain the release calendar across projects and teams.
Align development, QA, operations, and business teams on release scope and timelines.
Collaborate closely with Service Delivery Manager, Quality Manager, Functional HRIS Release Manager, and Project Managers.

2. Release Readiness & Governance

Ensure all release components (code, configuration, documentation) are complete and validated.
Lead Go/No-Go meetings and readiness reviews.
Ensure adherence to change management and regulatory requirements.

3. Risk & Issue Management

Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies related to releases.
Develop and maintain contingency and rollback plans.
Monitor post-release stability and coordinate incident response when necessary.

4. Environment & Deployment Management

Oversee deployment processes across development, testing, UAT, and production environments.
Identify opportunities to automate and optimize deployment workflows.
Ensure environment integrity and manage access controls.

5. Communication & Reporting

Provide regular updates on release status to stakeholders.
Document release notes, post-mortem analyses, and lessons learned.
Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users.

Required Qualifications - Hard Skills

5+ years of experience in Release Management.
Proven track record of managing complex enterprise-level releases.
Experience with HRIT systems is preferred.
Strong understanding of ITIL Change and Release Management processes.
Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
ITIL 4 Practitioner certification (Release Manager) is preferred.
