Purpose Of The Role People Analytics & Insights within HR are playing a pivotal role in enabling the modernisation of data capabilities and intelligence at the BBC. Developing and implementing the systems, processes and data which underpin our resource scheduling is a key, BBC-wide program of work.
This team's strategy is to enable our people, managers, and leaders across the BBC to understand and enhance the richness of our talented, diverse and representative workforce, through the delivery of trusted, valuable and insightful data products.
The role of Senior Principal Data Analyst is pivotal in transforming the coverage and interoperability of our workforce analytics, built through effective partnerships and enterprise thinking, in order to deliver an extended suite of data and insight products alongside our existing capabilities. Excellent stakeholder management skills will enable delivery of a high-value portfolio of work, in a collaborative way.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact As a Senior Principal Data Analyst within the People Analytics team, you will have a role in discovery, definition, design and implementation of operational and analytical reporting capabilities across the full resource scheduling lifecycle. Working with a project team and supported by a Principal Data Analyst in designing and delivering the strategic and operational data capability, to be integrated with existing People Analytics and Insights capabilities.
You will be engaged in all aspects of architecture, design, specs, tests, development, and delivery. As a QA advocate, you will be reviewing new features against existing products and services to ensure consistency and interoperability of data and systems.
You'll support the Head of Data in designing an agile, product-centric analytics suite and take responsibility for implementation and adoption. You'll partner with colleagues in technology and systems, to ensure process, system and data outcomes are effectively planned and delivered; Working collaboratively map delivery outcomes against HR capabilities, as well as identifying opportunities to improve existing HR data capabilities enterprise-wide.

Your Skills And Experience We focus on hiring for potential at the BBC, so the main requirement for the position is a strong analytical mindset.
Some of the things we love:
- Strong experience of data analysis, modelling and report design, with data and analytics tooling experience & capabilities such as Tableau, PowerBI, Python, SQL
- Experience of data management principles, documentation, and delivery, including data mapping, metrics governance and cataloguing
- Proven experience of testing in in a product development environment (e.g. back-end, integration, regression testing and UAT support)
- Knowledge of architecture domains, across data, solution and technical disciplines
- Used to working in an environment using multiple sources and target data repositories
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, ensuring delivery of key user stories and product outcomes
