Description & Requirements

On behalf of Homes England, we are looking for a Data Architect (Inside IR35) until 31/03/2026 contract based Remotely with Occasional travel to a Homes England Office.

Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency, plays a central role in tackling the housing challenges the country now faces. We have the appetite, influence, expertise, and resource to drive positive market change, and our mission is to ensure more homes are built in areas of greatest need, improve affordability and create a sustainable housing market.

Following the publication of the government’s Levelling Up White Paper, Homes England has also been tasked with a core role in spearheading regeneration, partnering with places to reduce economic disparity, empower local leaders and create equal opportunities across the country to ensure communities reach their full potential.

As a Data Architect, your main responsibilities will be:

Develop architectural patterns and standards for data based on ingestion routines, data governance and presentation requirements
Work with Data and Digital colleagues to design data models and structures for internal and external applications and services that are fit for purpose and follow agreed data standards, including defining database types (graph, column, unstructured, relational) for each solution.
Continually review and expand the common data platform, enabling and improving cross-system connectivity.
Review and assure data models for alignment to corporate standards, ensuring that data designs are fit for purpose (with emphasis on performance, volumetrics and costs).
Actively participate in a data practitioner community of interest, sharing knowledge and industry best practice with others

Essential:

Experience working within Azure Cloud
Databricks experience.
