Role: Technical Support EngineerLocation: Newcastle-under-LymeRate: TBCDuration: 6 MonthsHays Technology are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join an exciting public sector client's team. They are looking to undertake two major transformation projects - a full hardware refresh and a system upgrade. To support this, they are looking for two experienced BAU 1st/2nd Line Support Engineers to maintain day-to-day operations.What you will be doing:
- Delivering hands-on technical support across a busy IT environment
- Managing tickets via the department's service desk system
- Providing both face-to-face and remote support to a diverse user base
- Supporting Active Directory tasks including password resets and account provisioning
- Handling desktop support, printer issues, and general hardware troubleshooting
- Supporting Windows 10 and 11 environments
- Maintaining and supporting O365 applications
- Working in a fast-paced, varied workload environment
What we are looking for:
- Proven 1st/2nd line support experience in a BAU setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - able to support users at all levels
- Experience with Active Directory, desktop support, and ticketing systems
- Familiarity with Winpath would be desirable
- Public Sector experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Windows OS, O365, and general IT troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
