What is the opportunity?

This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the smooth, accurate, and compliant operation of the Bank's procurement processes. As a Buyer within the Procurement Services Hub, you will support day to day sourcing activity, manage incoming procurement requests, and maintain high quality documentation and system data across multiple spend areas.

You'll work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient buying cycles, strong governance, and adherence to regulatory requirements. This role provides hands on experience across sourcing operations, supplier engagement, and procurement controls making it an ideal development platform for building deeper expertise in commercial, sourcing, and category management activities within a modern, transformation focused procurement function.

What will make you stand out?
  • Experience within a structured, governed procurement or financial services environment desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring accuracy and compliance in procurement processes and documentation.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and tools (e.g., Coupa, ERP platforms) and approved buying channels.
Essential skills and experience
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement operations, purchasing support, supplier coordination, or similar roles.

Group Procurement & Partner Management is a Group-wide function at Bank of Ireland, responsible for enabling smart, strategic, and well-governed purchasing decisions across all Divisions and Business Units.
We deliver a full suite of capabilities including Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Partner Relationship Management, Supplier Risk Management & Governance, and Procurement Services & Transformation to support the Bank in achieving its commercial, operational, and risk objectives.

As part of Shared Services within the Enterprise Services team, we play a central role in facilitating the efficient and effective purchase of goods and services. Our focus is on maximising value from the Bank's total spend, strengthening our relationships with critical partners, and ensuring the organisation is protected from supplier-related risks.

Ultimately, we help the Bank buy better, work smarter, and operate safely so that every euro spent supports strategic outcomes and delivers lasting value.

This is a hybrid role, based primarily at Baggot plaza, Dublin. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.
