Position Description
The Governance Teamensuresthat ESBNetworksoperatesstrong internal controls,adheres to Authority levels and Group policies, and operates a transparent and robust financial approval process The team is responsible for promotinga culture of good governance and risk management across the businessand forem anaging the financial approvals process,co-ordinatingthe quarterly GovernanceICFsign-off processandsupporting the close out of GroupInternalAuditactionsandKeyControlTeam'srecommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Co ordinatethe Financial Approval process, ensuringthatsubmissions areof ahighquality,compliant with Financial Authority levels, and approved on SharePointin a timely manner.
- Provide support and guidance to stakeholders at all levels across theESBNetworks business on all aspects ofeffective governanceand risk managementincludingthe approvals process.
- Supporttheinterpretation and application oftheESB Networks Delegated Authority levels and ESB Group Procurement Authority levels.
- Co ordinatethe submission of ESB Networks DAC Board and ESB Board approval papers, ensuring timelines are met and queries from Senior Managers and Board members are addressed promptly.
- Streamline and enhance existing processes, ensuring training materials, procedures and approval checklists are documented,maintainedand up to date.
- Support the wider team across governance, risk management andcontrols testingprocesses and projectactivities asrequired.
Experience and Qualifications
- A recognised professional accounting qualification
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
- Strongcommercial acumen
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills
- Ability toproblem solve, workindependentlyandcollaborate effectively within a team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and deliver work to required timelines
- Proficiencyin MS Office, particularly Excel and SharePoint
- Ability to workin accordance withagreed guidelines,policiesand procedures
- Knowledge of the ESB Networks Business
- Experience ingovernance, riskmanagementorcompliance management
Location
This position will be basedinESBNetworks,LeopardstownRoad, Dublin.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make 'in-person' time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.
