Data / Software Engineer (Contract)

Location: Kansas City, MO Denver, CO Oklahoma City, OK Omaha, NE (On-site with limited remote flexibility)

Duration: 12-month contract (extension potential)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support analytics and research initiatives
• Collect, clean, and validate large datasets to ensure accuracy and usability
• Develop and optimize ELT/ETL processes for data integration and transformation
• Perform data analysis and support the creation of dashboards and reporting solutions
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance through testing and validation practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into solutions
• Contribute to the design and implementation of large-scale data and software systems
• Document processes, standards, and technical solutions for ongoing improvement

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Experience building and maintaining data warehouse solutions
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
