About the Role
Allegis Global Solutions (AGS) is seeking a Field Operations Transition Program Manager to support a leading organization within the cloud and data center infrastructure industry.
This role is critical in transitioning newly built data centers from construction into fully operational environments. You will act as the central liaison between cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth handover, operational readiness, and long-term site success.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations teams
- Own and drive the end-to-end transition of new data centers into live operations
- Plan, track, and manage handover activities, timelines, and risks
- Participate in design reviews, identifying and mitigating operational risks early
- Coordinate construction activities impacting live data center environments
- Support engineering teams with operations-related insights and decisions
- Capture and communicate lessons learned to improve future deployments
- Identify equipment quality issues and ensure timely remediation
- Support operations onboarding for new (greenfield) sites
- Develop in-depth site knowledge and maintain a comprehensive risk register
- Lead site acceptance processes (CSA walks, beneficial use, turnover walkthroughs)
- Ensure readiness through site mobilization (tools, spares, consumables)
- Engage and coordinate with third-party maintenance vendors
- Review and validate all handover documentation, including:
- O&M manuals
- As-built/record drawings
- Permits, certificates, and warranties
- Participate in turnover issue reviews and assess operational impact
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments
- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting IT equipment or related technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools (eg, Power BI)
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and technologies
- Knowledge of design, construction, and commissioning practices
- Experience with building management systems, controls, and automation frameworks
- Ability to manage projects end-to-end, solve complex problems, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as required
