Fluids Systems Engineer (Aerospace) - (Part-time, Edwards AFB, CA)

We are looking for a Fluids Systems Engineer for a global aerospace company. In this role, you will design, support, and troubleshoot aircraft fuel and/or hydraulic systems during ground and flight test operations to ensure safe and reliable system performance.

This is a 12-month contract Part Time role (with likely extensions), a 20-hour-per-week role, and it is an Oniste position in the Palmdale, CA / Edwards AFB, CA (time will be mostly at Edwards with some work done in Palmdale).

This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Responsibilities:

• We are seeking Fluids Systems Engineers to support the client X-59 Quiet SuperSonic Technology (QueSST) program through ground test and flight test operations.
• One role will focus primarily on fuel systems, the other on hydraulic systems, though candidates with experience across both disciplines are strongly preferred.
• Support the design, analysis, integration, and troubleshooting of aircraft fuel and/or hydraulic systems. Provide engineering support during ground test and flight test activities.
• Review and disposition system anomalies and support real-time test operations as needed.
• Collaborate with integrated test teams across multiple disciplines and locations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
• 9+ Years of experience as a Systems Engineer.
• 5+ years of Direct experience with either aircraft fuel systems or hydraulic systems (both is a plus)
• 5+ years of Experience with fluid system components, schematics, and test procedures.
• Flight test and Control Room experience preferred.
• US Citizenship required.

Desired but not required:

• Prior experience in a flight test environment, test lab, or flight test control room. Experience on military or experimental aircraft programs.

Compensation: $100/hr - $108/hr
