Our ClientOur client is a well-established Higher Education institution with a complex income profile and a strong focus on compliance, governance and student experience.The RoleThis is a hands-on senior credit control role with responsibility for driving cash collection and improving debt performance ahead of year end.• Lead targeted debt reduction activity across tuition, accommodation, sponsor and trade debt• Take ownership of complex, high-risk accounts• Line manage and support a Junior Credit Controller• Improve credit control processes and reporting• Act as an escalation point for stakeholders and external partnersMain DutiesYou will play a key role in strengthening credit control performance while ensuring policies are applied consistently and fairly.• Proactively contact debtors through high-volume outbound calls and written communication• Negotiate and manage repayment plans in line with policy• Resolve complex disputes with internal teams and external bodies• Monitor and manage Debt Collection Agency activity• Produce regular debt and cash collection reports for managementThe Successful Candidate• Experienced Senior Credit Controller with a proven track record of debt reduction• Background in Higher Education, student finance, tuition or accommodation debt• Confident managing high-value portfolios and prioritising risk• Comfortable line managing or supervising junior staff• Strong communicator able to handle sensitive and complex casesWhat's on offer?• Fixed-term contract of 3-6 months with immediate start• Competitive salary depending on experience• 35-hour working week, Monday to Friday• Hybrid working arrangement• Opportunity to make a visible impact ahead of year end• Collaborative, professional working environment within Higher EducationOur Commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion We believe that diverse teams drive innovation and success.
