Job Title: Java Developer
Rate: £400 (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications.
- Build secure, scalable, and maintainable microservices.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Solution Architects.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs.
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
- Work within Agile Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using Java (Java 11+ preferred).
- Experience building Spring Boot applications.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API development.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies.
- Familiarity with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience using Maven or Gradle.
- Previous experience working within UK Government or other public sector organisations.
- Understanding of secure software development practices.
