SC-Cleared Senior Developer - £450-£475 per day, Inside IR35 - Mostly Remote- Initial 3 months:

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (Backend) to join a high-performing team delivering solutions within a government environment. This is a hands-on role suited to a strong engineer who thrives in collaborative teams and is passionate about quality-driven development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver robust Back End services
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to shape technical solutions
• Contribute to technical direction and promote engineering best practices
• Participate in collaborative development activities including pair programming
• Ensure high-quality code through strong TDD practices

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Backend Engineer within government/public sector environments
• Strong hands-on expertise in Kotlin (primary focus for this role)
• Solid experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Demonstrable experience applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach
• Ability to engage in technical discussions and contribute to continuous improvement
• Availability to interview and start at short notice

• Candidates must hold active SC Clearance
• Interview process will include a pair programming exercise to assess TDD capability
