Pride Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant / Laboratory Technician to join a clinical laboratory team in New York City, NY, 10065. This is a 24 week contract position. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented healthcare professional with experience in clinical laboratory operations and specimen processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process patient samples for analysis, including reviewing test requests, accessioning, centrifugation, aliquotting, and placing samples on analyzers
  • Perform waived laboratory tests and prepare specimens for referral to external laboratories
  • Accession specimens in the laboratory information system following standard operating procedures
  • Prioritize STAT/RUSH samples for immediate processing
  • Communicate with physicians and nursing staff to resolve discrepancies or obtain additional information
  • Prepare, label, sort, and transport specimens to appropriate laboratory sections


Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory as a Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Assistant, or related role
  • High School Diploma or GED


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or Certified Vocational Training with 1 year of experience


Additional Information:

  • Contract Length- 24 weeks with possible extension
  • Shift-Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm
  • Pay Range-$20.00-$26.00 Per hour
  • Location-New York City, NY, 10065
