This is a specialist role focused on ensuring fair, defensible, and regulator-aligned customer outcomes, with direct exposure to FCA expectations and Consumer Credit Act considerations.

The Role

You'll act as a subject matter expert supporting the strategy, design, and assurance of redress calculation methodologies. The role brings an independent, controls-focused lens, challenging assumptions, validating logic, and strengthening governance across the programme.

Working alongside delivery, data, finance, and build teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring calculation accuracy, robustness, and auditability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert input into the design and validation of redress calculation methodologies
  • Independently challenge assumptions, treatment decisions, and calculation logic
  • Review and sense-check inputs, outputs, and complex calculation models
  • Support UAT, validation, and assurance activities
  • Ensure alignment with FCA expectations and Consumer Credit Act requirements
  • Identify and address gaps in redress calculation knowledge and governance
  • Contribute to strengthening controls, auditability, and regulatory defensibility
  • Support knowledge transfer and capability uplift, reducing key-person dependency

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience working on redress/remediation programmes within financial services
  • Strong understanding of redress calculation methodologies and frameworks
  • Experience engaging with regulatory requirements (FCA, Consumer Credit Act)
  • Ability to challenge and validate complex financial calculations
  • Background in assurance, controls, or risk-focused roles is highly advantageous
  • Confident working cross-functionally with data, finance, and delivery teams

Why Apply?

  • Outside IR35 contract with strong day rate
  • Fully remote engagement
  • High-impact role on a regulatory-critical programme
  • Opportunity to operate as a true SME within a complex remediation environment.
