SDET - Java & Cloud Automation

Location: London (3 days onsite per week)
Rate: Up to £500/day Inside IR35
Contract Length: 6 months initially

We're supporting a global enterprise client on the expansion of a high-performing engineering function focused on cloud-native platforms, data services and enterprise-scale automation.

This opportunity is suited to a Senior SDET/Automation Engineer with strong Java expertise and experience testing modern distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines within Azure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks
• Deliver robust API and integration testing across complex enterprise systems
• Validate cloud-based data pipelines and ensure data quality/integrity
• Collaborate closely with software engineers to embed TDD/BDD best practices
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery
• Drive automation strategy across front-to-back testing environments
• Contribute to quality engineering standards across cloud-native architectures

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Java automation development
• Proven background in API testing and integration testing
• Solid understanding of TDD/BDD methodologies and frameworks
• Experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks
• Exposure to cloud environments, ideally Azure
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
