Systems Analyst - 3 months Contract - £350/day via Inside IR35 - hybrid Shropshire - SCC FLEX CONTRACT
The Systems Analyst will play a key role within the Development Team, partnering with the Technical Project Manager and technical specialists to ensure business needs are translated into effective digital solutions. The role is responsible for gathering and analysing requirements, reviewing existing systems and processes, supporting solution design, and ensuring requirements are accurately carried through development, testing, implementation, and ongoing operational support. Acting as the bridge between stakeholders and technical teams, the Systems Analyst will help deliver solutions that are user-centred, secure, compliant, and aligned with organisational objectives.
Your responsibilities as a Systems Analyst:
- Partner with the Technical Project Manager to establish project scope, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and success criteria for development activities.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and digital stakeholders to capture, assess, refine, and prioritise business and user requirements.
- Create and maintain requirements documentation, functional specifications, user stories, process diagrams, data flows, and supporting system documentation.
- Evaluate existing systems, applications, processes, and integrations to identify inefficiencies, risks, opportunities, and areas for enhancement.
- Convert business requirements into detailed technical specifications to support development and integration activities.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements and manage updates, clarifications, and changes throughout the project life cycle.
- Contribute to system configuration, interface design, data mapping, prototyping, and technical validation activities.
- Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria, supporting system, integration, and user acceptance testing, including defect investigation and resolution.
- Support compliance with information governance, cybersecurity, accessibility, clinical safety, and data protection standards, raising concerns where necessary.
- Assist with implementation planning, knowledge transfer, operational handover, post-go-live support, and lesson learned reviews.
- Provide regular progress updates and highlight risks, issues, dependencies, and key decisions to the Technical Project Manager.
- Champion best practices in business analysis, documentation standards, and continuous improvement across the Development Team.
As a suitable Systems Analyst, you will have:
- Experience working as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role within a software development, systems integration, or digital delivery environment.
- Strong ability to gather, analyse, and document business and user requirements, translating them into clear technical and functional specifications.
- Good understanding of software development life cycles, requirements management, testing methodologies, and change management processes.
- Experience producing structured documentation, including requirements specifications, process maps, user stories, data flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting solution design, testing, implementation, and transition into operational support environments.
- Understanding of healthcare systems, interoperability standards, information governance, cybersecurity, clinical safety, or other regulated environments would be advantageous.
