We're looking for a Web Analytics Specialist who can bridge the gap between business objectives, user behaviour and technical implementation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the strategic and technical sides of analytics. You'll work with clients and internal teams to design measurement frameworks, implement tracking solutions and uncover insights that improve digital performance.
About the Role
As a Web Analytics Specialist, you'll lead the planning, implementation and optimisation of digital measurement strategies across a range of client websites and digital platforms. You'll work closely with UX specialists, developers, marketers, and client stakeholders to ensure organisations have the data they need to make informed decisions. From defining KPIs and customer journeys to implementing advanced tracking through Google Tag Manager and analysing performance in GA4 and Matomo, you'll play a key role in helping clients understand and improve their digital channels.
What You'll Do Analytics Strategy & Measurement Planning
- Define digital success metrics across websites, campaigns and user journeys
- Create tracking plans and analytics specifications for new projects and platform enhancements
- Lead implementation of tracking solutions using Google Tag Manager
- Configure event tracking, conversion tracking and goal measurement
- Validate analytics implementations through testing and quality assurance
- Work with developers to ensure accurate data collection across digital platforms
Reporting & Insights
- Analyse website performance using Google Analytics 4 and Matomo
- Build dashboards and reporting frameworks for clients and internal teams
- Identify opportunities to improve user journeys, engagement and conversions
- Translate data into actionable recommendations for stakeholders
Stakeholder Management
- Present findings, recommendations and performance reports to senior stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops with clients to define measurement requirements
- Support business development activities by contributing analytics expertise to proposals and client discussions
- Act as a trusted advisor on digital measurement and optimisation
What You'll Bring
- 3-5 years' experience in web analytics, digital performance or marketing analytics
- Proven experience developing measurement strategies and tracking plans
- Strong understanding of event tracking, conversion tracking and goal measurement
- Experience mapping and measuring customer journeys across digital platforms
- Ability to analyse data and communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Strong documentation and requirements gathering skills
What Success Looks Like
In this role, you'll help clients answer critical questions such as:
- How are users engaging with our website?
- Where are users dropping out of key journeys?
- Which channels and campaigns drive the most value?
- How can we improve conversion rates and user experience?
- What should we prioritise next based on data?
You'll ensure clients have confidence in their data and the insights needed to make better digital decisions.
