Job Title: Staff Accountant (Contract)

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: 4–6 Months

Pay Rate: $30–$33/hour (W2)

Start Date: ASAP

Our client, a NPO located in Washington, DC, is looking to add on an experienced Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract basis to support our finance team through a critical reporting and audit cycle.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant with prior experience using Sage Intacct. This fully remote position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily and monthly accounting tasks including reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis
Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
Maintain and update the general ledger
Support external audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial records
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely reporting

Qualifications:

2+ years of accounting experience
Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is required
Strong understanding of GAAP
Excellent Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment
